AUVSI to Host Webinars on Artificial Intelligence, Precision Agriculture, and FAA Waivers and Authorizations for Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Industry experts and FAA official to provide insight on business applications and regulatory requirements for commercial UAS operations

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) will host three upcoming webinars in which experts share their insights and answer questions on a variety of issues in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry.

On Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 3:00 p.m. EST, Jesse Clayton, Senior Product Manager for Intelligent Autonomous Machines at NVIDIA, will lead a discussion on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) for UAS. Clayton will address how advances in AI, big data and graphics processing can lead to applications for UAS technology, including warehouse management, aerial inspection, search and rescue, and agriculture.

On Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 3:00 p.m. EST, Alyssa Ryan, Customer Engagement Manager at MicaSense, will lead a webinar on Precision Agriculture in the Drone Age. The webinar will examine the emerging agricultural applications of UAS and how farmers will improve agribusiness by modifying the technology to suit their needs.

And on Monday, Dec. 12 at 3:30 p.m. EST, Earl Lawrence, Director of the UAS Integration Office at the Federal Aviation Administration, will discuss the process for granting waivers and airspace authorizations related to Part 107, the small UAS rule. This session will review the information that is required in applications for waivers and authorizations to help expedite approvals.
