After releasing an international Request for Tender (RfT) for a UAS capability in February 2016, it has been announced that the Royal Australian Navy has awarded a contract to Schiebel.

As a result of this contract, which was signed in December, the Royal Australian Navy will receive the latest version of Schiebel’s CAMCOPTER S-100 UAS, along with three years of follow-on Contractor Logistics Support.

“We feel most honored by the Royal Australian Navy’s decision to purchase our CAMCOPTER® S-100 UAS,” says Hans Georg Schiebel, the owner of the Schiebel Group, through press release.

“We are sure that the S-100 will prove to be an effective asset that will set a new benchmark for UAS capability.”

With its ability to vastly improve situational awareness of ship-born operations, the CAMCOPTER S-100 UAS has been used in various oceans and environments across the world on its way to successfully helping complete missions on over 30 different ships.
