Known for its EZ10 electric driverless shuttle, EasyMile has announced that international certification agency Bureau Veritas has awarded ISO 9001:2015, an international standard related to quality management, to the company's quality management system.

“The ISO 9001:2015 is a very important step for EasyMile towards worldwide Autonomous Transport System acceptance,” says Gilbert Gagnaire, founder & CEO of EasyMile

“Our first priority is always to ensure safety for passengers and other road or site users. With this safety-first approach, EasyMile will then continue its search of excellence, focusing on both safety and client satisfaction, and integrating more demanding industry standards (such as ISO26262).”

According to EasyMile, the certification scope includes all of its activities, including the specifications of Autonomous Vehicle, software and system development, deployment and support in the field, and EasyMile’s activities with third party manufacturers that are looking to reach autonomy with their platforms using EasyMile’s autonomous technology.

EasyMile says that the ISO 9001:2015 certification is an “important stepping stone towards a much wider and ambitious plan to further validate and homologate our autonomous systems tapping into the expertise of Bureau Veritas group to continue helping us to move forward with this plan.”

“Bureau Veritas is fully aligned with the market as it changes in the mobility space, acting as both a technology and a thought leader,” says Virginie Laurent, Automotive Market leader at Bureau Veritas.

“In the automotive sector, our specifications are helping the industry to break new ground and innovate. We are ready to support EasyMile further along its journey to safe and secured autonomous systems.”
