On Thursday, Little Arms Studios announced that it will present its Zephyr drone training simulator at the InterDrone event in Las Vegas, which takes place next week. The purpose of the Zephyr is to train commercial pilots and operators of small UAS, regardless of their skill level.

During the presentation of the Zephyr, a variety of new and improved technologies will be highlighted. Zephyr has a learning management system that shows instructors the progress being made by the trainees and whether or not those trainees are meeting certain goals and objectives during their instruction. Other features of the Zephyr include accurate flight physics, a drone failure simulation feature to test possible actions in potentially dangerous situations and expanded controller support.

“Zephyr is a result of a long and intense development effort, and we are excited to finally make it available to the SUAS community after integrating functions and capabilities suggested by more than 50 enterprise customers and drone professionals who participated in Zephyr beta trials,” says Kyle Bishop, CEO of Little Arms Studios. Bishop also spoke on what industries could be most impacted by the use of this technology.

“As proven during the trials, Zephyr has immediate, wide-ranging uses for universities and community colleges with growing drone curriculums, aviation schools that train professional drone pilots, public safety and disaster relief agencies, and enterprises with industry-specific needs and applications.”
