UAVOS, ISR Unmanned Technologies introduce new unmanned helicopter

UAVOS and ISR Unmanned Technologies Ltd. have developed a new unmanned helicopter called ISR-350-5, which is designed for commercial and security operations.

Expected to be manufactured and assembled in the United Kingdom, the vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft has undergone extensive research, development and innovation, which has led to improvements to all its systems including the mechanics, the on-board electronics and the available payloads.

UAVOS says the UAS offers “a solution for the new medium-sized unmanned helicopter tailored specifically to the requirements of the commercial and civil operations.”

“The ISR-350-5 joins our existing family of unmanned helicopters used for commercial and security missions,” says Aliaksei Stratsilatau, UAVOS chairman of the board and lead developer.

“The partnership with ISR Unmanned Technologies Ltd. creates the opportunity for both companies to explore expanding into new markets and developing new capabilities to meet future customer needs. New ISR-350-5 will be introduced at the largest defense and security exhibition DSEI in London.”

According to UAVOS, the ISR-350-5 is based on the company’s UVH-170 UAS, which is a light, single-engine, gasoline-powered helicopter. The ISR-350-5 is expected to be able to stay airborne for up to six hours, thanks to having a fuel consumption of two liters per hour.

Equipped with a payload of up to five kilograms, which is designed for survey instruments and radar, the helicopter can operate in harsh environments such as a tropical climate, thanks to its electronics being IP67 rated.

Powered by UAVOS’s autopilot, the ISR-350-5 is expected to achieve maximum flight safety, UAVOS says, which increases the survivability of the UAS, thanks to a high level of self-diagnosis of all vehicle’s components.

UAVOS notes that it has also worked on payload integration, and offers a variety of options that covers a wide range of applications for several sectors, including surveillance, inspection, agriculture. Some of the company’s payloads include gimbals with cameras with day and night vision, up to 30x optical zoom, and high resolution and infrared sensors.

UAVOS points out that with its Autopilot, it is also possible to synchronize the work of a payload and of the onboard telemetry, and the flight task for most aerial applications.
