AUVSI Joins Chorus of Stakeholders Calling on Biden-Harris Administration to Support U.S. Leadership in Advanced Aviation

On the heels of the White House Summit on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) earlier this month, AUVSI today joined a group of UAS and AAM stakeholders in sending a letter to the Biden-Harris Administration urging executive action on maintaining and expanding American leadership in aviation innovation and advanced technologies.

The letter was drafted following the White House Summit on AAM, which hosted by the Office of Science and Technology Policy on August 3. AUVSI was honored to attend this historic event and join industry stakeholders and government officials for discussions on challenges and opportunities related to AAM, UAS, counter-UAS – including use by first responders, workforce training, sustainability, infrastructure development, and the U.S. regulatory scheme overseeing uncrewed systems.

As AUVSI President and CEO Brian Wynne stated in remarks at a post-Summit reception, the U.S. cannot cede aviation leadership to other nations. It is AUVSI’s view that as the national airspace system becomes more crowded with new users and new technologies, the U.S. must do more to support their integration while ensuring the highest safety standards.

AUVSI remains committed to working with both the Biden-Harris Administration and Congress to support U.S. UAS and AAM leadership and realize the immense benefits the UAS and AAM industries hold to simultaneously provide economic, environmental, and workforce benefits.
