Described as “quite possibly, the best value in a side scan sonar on the market today,” the Scout Mk II Side Scan Sonar, a product of ATLAS North America, is now available.

Small, light and low on power consumption, the Scout Mk II Side Scan Sonar is especially suited for the micro AUV market, but as an advanced side scan sonar, it is built for all AUV applications.

“The Scout Mk II leverages the compact design of the Scout Lite sonar and offers a modular, versatile, and affordable sonar which, with its small size, is easy to integrate into any AUV,” says Sergio Diehl, President of ATLAS North America.

ATLAS says that the compact configuration of the Scout Mk II gives AUV designers precious payload space, “while still rendering underwater images of up to 0.4cm of resolution!”

Customizable transducers for each AUV, in frequencies from 300-1800 kHz, are also included with the Scout Mk II, as well as “single or simultaneous dual frequency sonar, an efficient mounting interface,” and a depth rating of 600 meters as standard.

Being that it can be custom built to meet the deepest water depth requirements, the Scout Mk II is designed to cover the spectrum.
