Webinar Description:
As unmanned and autonomous vehicle systems move closer to mass adoption, the companies that design and manufacture those vehicles, their components, and the software that powers them should consider the potential product liability risks if their vehicle causes an accident or hurts someone. Analyzing those risks is complicated, in part, because unmanned and autonomous vehicles employ a number of new technologies that do not clearly fit into the framework of traditional product liability law. This webinar will explore the risks related to those new technologies, including (1) the distinction between hardware and software and how that affects liability; (2) how the use of automation and autonomy affects product liability risks; and (3) special considerations related to AI and machine learning.
