Dronemaker DJI has unveiled the Mavic 2 Enterprise, a compact, foldable drone with a zoom camera that can be outfitted with accessories such as a beacon or loudspeaker.

The Mavic 2 Enterprise is aimed at businesses, governments, educators and other professionals, the company says, with accessories aimed at boosting its capabilities for firefighting, emergency response, law enforcement and infrastructure inspections.

“With the Mavic 2 Enterprise, DJI has created a drone that makes powerful technology accessible to every enterprise and revolutionizes how they do their work,” says DJI President Roger Luo. “Mavic 2 Enterprise is the world’s most capable commercial drone, purpose-built to serve the operational needs of our industry partners as well as companies that are just now preparing to embrace the benefits of drone technology.”

The Mavic 2 Enterprise has a 12-megapixel, stabilized camera with a two-times optical and three-times digital zoom. It can also accept accessories, including the M2E Spotlight, a dual spotlight with 2,400 lumens brightness, “ideal for search and rescue as well as inspection applications;” M2E Speaker, a loudspeaker that plays up to 10 custom voice recordings; and M2E Beacon, designed to meet Federal Aviation Administration night waiver standards. The beacon features a flashing strobe visible from three miles away.

The Mavic 2 Enterprise also features 24 gigabytes of onboard data storage with password protection — when activated, the system requires a password to activate the drone, link it to a remote controller and access the onboard storage.

“Drones are incredible tools that can make our rescuers more efficient, simplify some of our tasks and provide affordable protection from the skies. That is a big deal,” Dean Morales, fire captain of the Mesa Fire & Medical Department, says in a DJI press release. “We are always looking for a better way to serve our community. With the use of drones, lives are going to be saved.”

The Mavic 2 Enterprise costs $1,999 USD for the Universal Edition, which includes an aircraft, remote control, one battery, all three accessories and a case. A Fly More kit that includes two batteries, a charging hub, car charger and other options is $419 USD.
