AUVSI Announces Election of Board of Directors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International today announced the election of directors to the association’s board. Current board directors Jonathan Downey, Airware, and Lauren McCollum, Lockheed Martin, were re-elected. The new directors elected to the board were Peter Cleveland, Intel; Jeff Lovin, Woolpert; Waseem Naqvi, Raytheon; and Jim Thomsen, Seaborne Defense.  

“We are honored to welcome these technology and policy leaders to the association’s governing board and appreciate the continued service of our current board members,” said Brian Wynne, president and CEO of AUVSI. “These board directors represent a diverse range of companies and institutions in unmanned systems and robotics, leading this global industry toward an exciting future. We congratulate those who were elected to the board and look forward to their service.”

The new terms for the directors elected to the board start in connection with XPONENTIAL 2016, AUVSI’s annual trade show and conference, which is being held this week in New Orleans.

More than 8,000 attendees from more than 55 countries are attending XPONENTIAL. The conference and trade show, which is organized by AUVSI, features the latest innovations in the unmanned systems market. The exhibit hall is showcasing over 600 cutting-edge companies, representing more than 20 industries. XPONENTIAL also offers over 200 educational sessions, providing information about the future of unmanned systems policy, regulations and technology.
