Huntsville, Alabama based Avion Unmanned has announced that it has launched a new Online UAS Training Portal.

Designed to train groups and individuals in law enforcement and commercially, the portal will help future UAS operators learn how to deal with the potential challenges they might face in the National Airspace System (NAS) when operating their aircraft.

“This is the first opportunity for commercial and public groups in the civilian market to experience this caliber of comprehensive learning,” says Dan Carbone, a retired US Army Maintenance Test Pilot/Instructor Pilot, via Aviation Pros.

Carbone helped with the development of the portal, and was determined to make sure that it was not only fully comprehensive, but affordable.

Utilizing the cloud-based TalentLMS (Learning Management System), in combination with experienced aviation instructors, the portal will give participants the opportunity to pace themselves while completing remote training.

Training will comprise of a number of courses covering several topics under the Federal Aviation Administration’s new UAS regulations, including courses on aircraft systems, flight control software and airspace.

“The only way to be effective with a tool is to be properly trained how to use it,” says Avion's UAS Program Manager Taylor Abington.

“By enrolling in Avion's online UAS training, you are sure to be trained to operate your UAS legally, effectively, and most importantly, safely.”
