The New Hybrid Experience for XPONENTIAL 2021

5 WAYS TO MAKE THE MOST OF XPONENTIAL 2021

XPONENTIAL is a globally-recognized gathering for leaders and users of unmanned technologies. Each year, it brings together thousands of the industry’s top minds—from engineers, to policymakers, to enterprise program managers—to cultivate collaboration, spark new ideas, and design the future of autonomy.

In 2020, XPONENTIAL went fully virtual in response to the global pandemic. This year, after months of careful planning, it’s officially coming back as a two-part, hybrid experience.

From May 4-6, you can join the immersive virtual conference. Then, from August 16-19, you’re invited to Atlanta for the in-person edition—with new keynotes, educational sessions, and safely-facilitated networking.

We put together this brief guide to help you navigate the benefits of attending this unique hybrid event. Scroll down to preview some of the can’t-miss opportunities, and visit AUVSI’s own “What to Expect” guide for more information.

Need more time to decide? Attendees can register for virtual now and upgrade to in-person later. If you decide to travel to Atlanta, AUVSI will apply the full value of your virtual registration and you’ll just pay the difference.

Ready to register? Click here to claim your spot.

1. Grab one of 75 seats for the assured autonomy workshop.

Assuring the safe integration of autonomous technology is essential to our industry’s long-term success—but the path to get there is incredibly complex. That’s why AUVSI is co-hosting a workshop this year with the Johns Hopkins Institute for Assured Autonomy to create a shared roadmap for assured autonomy.

This exclusive workshop will take place at the Atlanta event and include collaborative breakouts to bring together top minds across industries. Participation is limited to 75 attendees, so you’ll need to register for XPONENTIAL in advance to guarantee your spot and access the prep questionnaire.

2. Explore the XPO Hall. Twice.

XPONENTIAL 2021 includes both online and in-person XPO Hall experiences. That means twice as many opportunities to get you up to speed on the latest technologies and start conversations with new partners.

During the online event, use our virtual platform's searchable exhibitor profiles with direct messaging capabilities and brand-new Buyer’s Guide to find exactly what you’re looking for. Then visit our interactive map to see more than 400 exhibitors that will be in Atlanta and make a plan to connect in-person.

3. Take advantage of the on-demand content library.

Want to stay sharp during the three months between the virtual and in-person events? Your XPONENTIAL registration includes on-demand content so that you can explore the entire educational program at your own pace.

The on-demand library takes the usual anxiety out of attending an event, because you won’t have to worry about fitting every virtual session into your calendar. You’ll have all summer to revisit your favorite sessions or check out the ones you missed!

4. Attend keynotes from internationally-recognized thought leaders.

The 2021 keynote lineup for XPONENTIAL includes trailblazers from across the industry who are charting the future of unmanned systems. Keynotes at the Atlanta event will be announced soon, but the diverse line-up of speakers at the virtual event are already top notch. They’ll inspire you to think deeply about innovation in autonomous technology, potential applications for your career, and the implications for society.

Here are a few virtual keynotes we recommend you add to your calendar:

  • Adam Bry, CEO & Co-Founder, Skydio (and former Co-Founder, Project Wing)
  • Dr. Kate Darling, leading expert in social robotics and Research Specialist, MIT Media Lab
  • Dr. Robert Hampshire, newly appointed Chief Science Officer, U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Peter Singer, award-winning author, ASU professor, and futurist

5. Choose your favorite way to network with fellow technologists and operators.

Networking at events is usually a love-it-or-hate-it experience. For the first time, this year’s hybrid XPONENTIAL format lets you choose how you prefer to connect with your peers, potential customers, and prospective partners.

During the virtual event, you can customize your online profile, send direct messages to exhibitors and fellow attendees, and participate in networking roundtable discussions. Then, throughout the summer, you’ll get access to a private XPONENTIAL LinkedIn group to keep making connections. Finally, at the Atlanta event, you’ll get to meet people the old-fashioned way: in-person. (Remember what that’s like?!)
