Silent Falcon UAS Technologies has partnered with Silvus Technologies to equip its Silent Falcon UAS with Silvus' advanced technology MIMO MANET Streamcaster communications systems, which includes the company’s new SF ATAK Field Observer Kit.

“Our partnership with Silvus Technologies has allowed Silent Falcon to greatly expand the capabilities and reliability of our Silent Falcon system,” says John W. Brown, Silent Falcon chairman and CEO.

“The Silvus products are easy to operate, integrate well with the Silent Falcon system, and provide rock solid communications in the most difficult conditions. And we have taken these capabilities a step further with the introduction of the SF ATAK Field Observer Kit, further demonstrating the flexibility of the Silent Falcon system and the Silvus StreamCaster MN-MIMO MANET technology.”

Silent Falcon and Silvus say that the Silvus MIMO MANET communications systems has proven effective for a variety of long range UAS commercial applications including oil and gas, pipeline, electric power transmission, mapping and surveying markets.

The systems have also been successfully deployed for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), search and rescue missions, and long-range border patrol missions across the world. Additionally, the systems have been used to help the US Department of Interior during wildfire fighting operations.

Powered by Silvus Streamcaster components, the recently introduced three radio SF TriAntenna Ground Control Station has greatly increased the reliability, connectivity and bandwidth of the Silent Falcon system.

The addition of the SF ATAK Field Observer Kit has further enhanced the capabilities of the comms systems. Described as “small” and “portable,” the kit provides live streaming videos with map overlays on tablets and smartphones to operators on the ground who need real time access to this critical information. Before the introduction of the SF ATAK Field Observer Kit, the dissemination of this important data was confined to ground station observers or at remote command centers.

Silent Falcon and Silvus say that the SF ATAK Field Observer Kit will initially be deployed during this summer's fire season in support of the US Department of Interior's wildfire fighting efforts.
