Known as Huimo Business Consulting, the subsidiary, based in Shanghai, has a business scope that includes autonomous driving parts and product design, testing and other related services, to name a few. IBM has filed a patent for a coffee delivery drone. The patent describes a scenario in which a UAS could detect when a person is tiring, and fly over with a cup of coffee on demand. (Popular Mechanics)

DroneHive and Red Mountain Scientific have partnered to enhance the safety of teams for carriers, tower groups, engineering firms and field services. DroneHive has a ready-to-deploy team of more than 500 drone services professionals across the U.S. to manage aerial data collection, while Red Mountain Scientific provides flight automation software to automate tower image data, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline analysis and generate tower reports. In September, Ocean Infinity hopes to begin searching for the missing Argentine submarine ARA San Juan (S-42). The company will deploy five untethered AUVs that can operate in water depths from 5-6,000 meters to search for the missing submarine. (MercoPress)

Yandex has launched the first autonomous ride-hailing service in Europe in the university city of Innopolis, Russia. Residents can order rides to several set destinations, including the university, the stadium, residential blocks, and the local business center. (Yandex)

Deveron UAS Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Veritas Farm Management Inc., a provider of data analytics. The acquisition will result in a data analytics company that provides farmers in North America with access to data driven insights, as well as access to Deveron’s UAS data network. (Deveron UAS)

​NASA has announced that it will work with industry to conduct a UAS demo in airspace in 2020. NASA and the selected partners will collaborate to address the various issues that prevent routine commercial UAS operations today, including development, integration, and certification of unmanned aircraft and avionics. Topcon Positioning Group has introduced MAGNET Inspect, which is a new software designed to facilitate data processing workflow for UAS infrastructure inspection. The software efficiently manages large UAS data sets to create inspection reports. (Topcon Positioning Group)

Bibby HydroMap has successfully completed testing of an eight-meter Autonomous Unmanned Survey Vessel (AUSV) called DriX. Developed by iXblue, DriX is designed to “provide a true extension of survey capability from shallow and inshore waters to a full offshore environment.” (Bibby HydroMap)

Iridium Communications Inc. has signed a Letter of Intent with Rolls-Royce Marine (RRM) in support of its autonomous vessel development program. The companies will work together to explore incorporating Iridium CertusSM, which is Iridium's next-generation L-band satellite broadband service, into the RRM suite of Ship Intelligence platforms.
