Media Advisory: “So You Want to Fly a Drone” Webinar, Nov. 29

Discussion on training and certification needed to become a commercial UAS operator

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems will host a webinar to outline the necessary steps to become a commercial UAS pilot and discuss how companies can use UAS to improve their businesses. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. EST.

“So You Want to Fly a Drone” will feature John and Martha King, the co-chairs of the King Schools, and Tracy Lamb, vice president of regulatory and safety affairs and chief pilot at AUVSI. They will discuss the training and certification that are needed to become a licensed commercial UAS operator by the Federal Aviation Administration.

They will also share their experiences as commercial UAS pilots and the types of missions they have flown, working in industries ranging from utilities and infrastructure to real estate and photography.

Registration for the webinar is complimentary for AUVSI members and qualified media, and $49 for non-members. Registration will close on Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. EST.
