New England UAS and AAM Summit 2022

Please join us for New England’s UAS and AAM Summit 2022, Scaling Airspace and Autonomy: Impacts on Society and Business, co-hosted by AUVSI New England, MassAutonomy, and NDIA New England. Government, industry, and academic leaders from across the country will discuss UAS and AAM progress, opportunities, and obstacles as we develop and implement this critical technology in society and daily life.

Monthly Fly-In

Every first Sunday of the month we summon the Uncrewed and Autonomous community for a fun day of networking and discussions on the topics of all things drone. All are welcome to join the largest drone community in Texas. Contact Adrian Doko for questions - ADRIAN@AUVSILS.ORG We will be located on the far eastern part of the park at the parking lot next to the pond.

Midwest Public Safety Drone event

The use of drones continues to soar across the public safety sector. Drones offer incredible benefits and the industry keeps increasing, slated to grow to 63.6 billion dollars by 2025.   Public safety makes up a large portion of the drone industry, and is arguably one of the most important. However, with difficult regulations, grant writing processes, and the overall cost of obtaining quality gear, creating and maintaining a drone program can be a daunting task.

2nd Annual Autonomous Systems Exposition & Aerospace Gala

In Advanced Air Mobility, the new vehicles and emergent capabilities in aviation enabled by electric propulsion, autonomous systems, and supporting physical and digital infrastructure, are enabling a new paradigm in mobility for people and cargo. Companies like Joby, BETA Technologies, Xwing, Reliable Robotics, and (Virginia based) Electra Aero are making rapid progress towards electric vertical takeoff andlanding aircraft (eVTOL), new capabilities for fixed wing aircraft, remotely piloted autonomous cargo operations, and other innovations that will enable lower cost, safer, sustainable, and improved service to under-served regions and grow the Virginia economy.

Texas Drone Workshop

AUVSI: Lone Star Chapter is excited to bring drone experts together in this 2-day event that focusses on helping people get into the drone industry. Come join other drone enthusiasts, aspiring drone professionals and full-time drone professionals as we talk about our experiences and struggles. More importantly though, we want to provide you with the real-world experience that you can use as a platform to advance your own goals.  AUVSI’s mission is to bring the unmanned industry into the mainstream and educate those at the beginning of their journey.

AUVSI Pathfinder Symposium

The 32nd Pathfinder Symposium is three days 30 August,31 August, and 1 September. We will have multi-service members of the UAS community from PEO U&W, SOCOM, and the US Army. Keynotes are MG Rugen FVL CFT, Mr Mason PEO Aviation, and COL Anderson PM UAS. PM UAS speakers on SUAS, TUAS, and C2E. Exhibitors include Textron, L3 Harris, Northrop Grumman, Martin UAV, AeroVironment, Insitu, and many others.

Techniques of Drone Use in Search and Rescue

This will be an approximately 3-4 hour class and is a prerequisite to attend the field practical the following day that will be held out in the field located at: 4500 Medical Center Drive, Mc Kinney, TX 75069. This class is geared towards those who have some working knowledge with drones and can handle basic flight operations. We will cover the following topics: *Review sample photo/video footage *State and Federal laws regarding drone use *Payload types for SAR *Programs, Skillsets and Tactics needed for SAR *General discussion on qualifications/certifications for SAR

Let's Talk Drones

As the drone industry continues to soar, local universities, like North Carolina A&T State University, NC State University, and Elizabeth City State University are leading the charge in developing technology and preparing tomorrow's leaders to meet the demand in this growing industry.   Join AUVSI North Carolina on July 30th from 4-6pm for the next Let's Talk Drones as we discuss current UAS-related research and education activities taking place at some of North Carolina's prominent universities.

2021 AUVSI Ridge & Valley Conference: Partnerships for Autonomy

The Ridge and Valley Chapter of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) seeks to advance unmanned systems technology and to raise awareness of the region as a center of technical expertise. An essential element in the advancement of unmanned systems is partnership. Of course, robotic systems are increasingly interconnected with each other and with the people who use them; these partnerships are driving critical advances in autonomy and robotics. But human partnerships are also critical. Research partnerships spawn transformational new technologies. Workforce development partnerships provide a reliable flow of adaptable, well-trained workers. Economic development partnerships create conditions to accelerate commercial growth.

UTM/AAM Braving New England Weather

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are increasingly being used in New England states in support of public safety operations and infrastructure inspections. The coming years will see more advanced operations with services that include aerial package delivery and passenger transport, connecting urban centers with rural communities. These services will face New England weather – windy fall days, hot summers and snowy winters- and microclimates that change as you travel from the coastal waters to the valleys. Can our existing weather observation infrastructure meet the needs of this new industry? What do we need to do to prepare our region to have weather-safe operations?
