After debuting in September, the Sharp INTELLOS Automated Unmanned Ground Vehicle (A-UGV) has been named one of the “Top 30 Technology Innovations of 2016” by the Security Sales & Integration (SSI) Magazine. The annual list recognizes products and companies that provide answers to the complex issues of safety and security.

Through a company press release, Mike Kobelin, National Sales Director for the Sharp Robotics Business Division, said, “we at Sharp are honored that our new Sharp INTELLOS Automated Unmanned Ground Vehicle has been recognized as one of the best new products in the security industry for 2016.”

“Extensive market research told us (Sharp) that large end-users and their security integrators are looking for innovative ways to enhance and extend outdoor security and safety to the furthest boundaries of their perimeter. Now, without the exorbitant cost of wiring infrastructure, Sharp’s A-UGV can provide this groundbreaking solution.”

With a lifespan of eight hours, and equipped with a siren, flashing lights and voice announcements, the system is ideal for working in coordination with human security to thwart safety threats spurred by vandalism, trespassing, theft and other types of crime.

These features, among others, garnered high praise from SSI Magazine, as an excerpt from the description of the UGV said that it “can and will change the security guard business as we know it.”
